In Philippians 1, Paul was in a moment when he was as close to death as he was close to life. He wasn’t being fed, and there was sewage and dead corpses all around him. But rather than languish in that horrible prison, Paul turned his prison into his pulpit. As a result, the Gospel began to be preached throughout the entire imperial palace! Instead of that situation marking the end of his ministry, it turned out to be the beginning! The same thing is true for many who are in quarantine today or in some other binding situation. It can be the end in your mind, or it can be an opportunity! It’s our choice whether we focus on the negative effects of what we see going on around us — or whether we praise God in the midst of the circumstances and see what we can do to help others!
