What Is the RIV?
The Renner Interpretive Version of the New Testament is an expanded, interpretive version based on Rick Renner’s exposition of the original language of the New Testament.
It’s not a word-for-word translation, but a conceptual interpretation that draws upon concepts in the Greek language in a way that gives readers a broader comprehension of the Scriptures. By extracting imagery presented in the Greek and conveying it to readers using contemporary speech, Rick helps draw lovers of the Word into a deeper study of God’s message to His people for all time.
About This Installment of the Books of James and Jude
James and Jude were Jesus’ half-brothers, younger sons of Joseph and Mary. In this installment, the Spirit-inspired words of James and Jude will thrill your heart, challenge your thinking, and open the eyes of your spirit in greater ways to see the unchanging nature of God — His wisdom, goodness, power, and love.
The very first installment of the Renner Interpretive Version to be released, this volume features:
- insight into James’ and Jude’s first audiences and their circumstances.
- historical use of the words the writers used and the relevance of those words for us today.
- all this in 133 verses of James and Jude and more than 1,200 footnotes!
