Ultimately, Satan is the energizing presence that is dominating and controlling the world. Before we were saved, our lives were dominated and controlled by him and the whims of the world around us. We pursued the lusts of our flesh and wanted nothing to do with God. It was God who loved us and mercifully pursued us. Thank God He did not leave us in our helpless condition.
